Leather Gloves

Glove Sizing

Our gloves are sized by hand circumference — measured at the widest part of your palm, excluding the thumb.

01

Wrap the tape

Wrap a soft tape around your dominant hand at the widest point of your palm (just below the knuckles), excluding the thumb.

02

Note in inches or cm

Keep the tape snug but not tight. This measurement — your hand circumference — maps directly to your glove size.

03

Match to the table

Find your measurement below. If you fall between sizes, size up for a more comfortable break-in period with sport gloves.

Leather Boots

Boot Sizing

For riding and polo boots, both foot length and calf circumference determine correct fit. Measure both carefully before ordering.

01

Foot Length

Stand barefoot on a hard surface, heel against a wall. Measure from wall to tip of your longest toe in cm.

02

Calf Circumference

Measure around the widest part of your calf while standing. Critical for tall boots — polo and riding boots must fit snugly.

03

Calf Height

Measure from the floor to the back of your knee crease. Determines shaft height for tall riding and polo boots.

04

Ankle Circumference

Wrap tape around the narrowest point of your ankle. Ensures proper fit through the shaft and prevents rubbing.

Polo Boot Fit Note: Polo boots are traditionally worn snug — the leather moulds to your leg within 3–5 wearings. First wear may feel firm; this is intentional and will ease naturally.

Leather Jackets

Jacket Sizing

Our jackets are cut from full-grain leather with a structured silhouette. Measure chest, shoulders, and sleeve length for a precise fit.

01

Chest

Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape horizontal. Breathe normally — don't expand your chest.

02

Shoulder Width

Measure from the tip of one shoulder to the other across your back, passing over the base of your neck.

03

Sleeve Length

Bend your arm slightly. Measure from centre back of neck, over the shoulder point, down to your wrist bone.

04

Body Length

From the highest point of your shoulder down to where you want the jacket to end — typically at the hip.

Fit Guidance: Our jackets use a tailored, close-to-body silhouette. Full-grain leather does not stretch significantly — size up if you plan to layer underneath or prefer a relaxed drape. The leather will soften and conform to your body over time.

Bags & Belts

Bags & Belt Sizing

Bag sizes are fixed by design. For belts, measure your natural waist or trouser waistband for the perfect fit.

01

Trouser waist

Take the waist measurement of trousers that fit you well and add 1–1.5 inches (2.5–4 cm). This is your belt size.

02

Existing belt

Lay your current belt flat. Measure from the fold at the buckle to the hole you use most. This is your ideal belt length.

03

Body measurement

Measure around your natural waist where you wear the belt. Order a belt 1–2 inches larger than this measurement.

Leather Care

Care & Conditioning

Properly cared-for Chicago Leather Co. pieces will last a lifetime and develop a rich, distinctive patina over the years.

Conditioning

Apply leather conditioner every 3–6 months. Use a small amount on a soft cloth to keep leather supple and prevent cracking.

Storage

Store cool and dry, away from sunlight. Use cotton dust bags — never plastic. Stuff bags for shape. Always use boot trees.

Water Care

Apply beeswax or leather waterproofing spray before first use and re-apply each season. If wet, dry naturally — never use heat.

Heat & Sunlight

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and heat sources. UV causes fading; heat dries and cracks the leather's natural fibres.

Cleaning

Wipe dust with a dry soft cloth. For stains, use a barely-damp cloth. Saddle soap works well for unfinished leathers.

Break-in Period

New boots and gloves require 3–7 wearings to break in. Wear for short periods at first — leather will conform to your body.
